Provost Faculty Fellow Program
General Description: The Provost Faculty Fellow Program provides part-time academic leadership experience to members of the University Faculty who have an interest in academic administration. Fellows will gain insight into administrative practices and procedures in the Provost and Associate Provost Offices. This position(s) is for fall 2025 with the possibility for renewal in spring 2026.
The Provost Faculty Fellow’s primary responsibility will be in one of the following areas: Associate
Provost Academic Programs (APAP)
- Assessment/Academic Program Review
- Catalog processes
Associate Provost Academic Administration (APAA)
- Faculty Onboarding & Professional Development
- Academic Leadership Onboarding & Development
Associate Provost for Student Success (APSS)
- Student Success
- UNIV 101
Eligibility: Fellows must be tenured faculty at the Associate or Full Professor level at Southern Illinois University Carbondale or Continuing NTT at the Associate Instructor/Clinical Professor level or higher level.
Compensation: Fellows will receive one course release (25% FTE or equivalent administrative stipend), and if the assignment continues in the summer, one-month summer salary.
Application Procedure: Eligible faculty members should submit a statement of interest relating to one or more of the areas listed above, CV and letters of endorsement from the School Director and Dean to apaa@siu.edu. The course release will be funded through the Provost’s Office.
Deadline: April 1, 2025
Selection: The Provost Faculty Fellow will be appointed by the Provost with the recommendation of the Associate Provosts based on area of interest, relevant experience, demonstrated leadership potential, and existing needs of the University at the time of selection.
