The Associate Provost for Student Success provides strategic leadership and a focus on innovation for institution-wide Saluki student success initiatives that inspire the faculty, students and staff to greater academic excellence. Responsible include:
- Manage all Saluki Student Success initiatives and programs.
- Lead institution-wide student advising and retention initiatives.
- Oversee campus-wide tutoring services and staff.
- Coordinate UNIV 101, the first-year seminar course.
- Assist with the development and coordination of supplemental/corequisite instruction.
- Collaborate with student affairs on First-year Experience and Living Learning Community initiatives and programming.
- Collaborate with faculty to develop and then coordinate Freshman Interest Groups (FIGs).
- Participate in the SIU Student Success Council.
- Research, develop and coordinate high-impact and best practices for student success.
- Advise and represent Academic Affairs with internal and external constituencies on all matters pertaining to student success.
